We chose this hotel because it had a room to accommodate 5 people. The beds were clean, but hat was the only good thing I can say.

It was very noisy, we heard every conversation people had in the hallway and could hear the people upstairs walking. So many doors slamming after 11 pm. One morning we heard a dog barking before 8 AM.

The access doors from the back parking lot stay unlocked until 9 pm, meaning anyone can get in and roam around undetected and the hotel is in a seedy part of town. I also noticed the door was unlocked at 930 pm one night.

The breakfast was something to be desired.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bed comfortable. I was happy to be able to park very close to the lobby entrance.

Beds are on the softer side but not uncomfortable.

The pulp mill was too noisy for me and we had to move rooms. They did accomodate us quickly to another room but with smaller bed. Over all its not a quiet location for a hotel with the pulp mill on one side and the Hwy on the other.

The room was very dated, the floor under the shower is so rotten it felt like we were going to fall through. The bathroom was a DIY special with old pipes sticking out of the ways.

We had multiple silverfish bugs in the tub and when the desk staff was notified, they played dumb and they said they don’t have a bug problem, (yet on several sites we found issues; the hotel replied too!) but offered to have someone spray insecticide / pesticide in the room.

Didn't get up early enough for the free breakfast so I can't comment on that but Ricky's has a good breakfast and they are right off the lobby.

Entrances and fire exits were easily accessible. Architecher on outside was appealing especially with the pool located underneath the resteraunt, and matching all glass view. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a one bed, kingsize with end tables on either side, couch bed(needs to be upgraded), tv on top of a chest of drawers, bar fridge, desk. all laid out nicely with a good size window view. Bathroom design was quite ergonomically practical for the size and clean, which I liked most.

Clean but in need of updates to little things, like the lamps and shower rod were broken. Old sink with stains, leaky faucet and a cute Silver Fish. Had to unplug the fridge because it was quite noisy when it would come on.

The Days Inn in Nanaimo is a great place to stop and stay or just stop at have something to eat. The staff and management are the most courteous people that I have ever met. When business people are nice and friendly and caring, one will support them. I have learned one thing over the years about businesses and that it is it's the people who work there that make you want to come back. The Days Inn in Nanaimo is one such place... Good People, Good Food and a Good Place to stop..
